REPORT: 

After three long days I’ve finally made it to Brayle. I came to the city, hat in hand, explaining my messy divorce to a wife who took our four kids, took the house, and took everything. Poor Kira Zavitz, came to the city with absolutely nothing! 

I started in the pub, complaining loudly about her, a bit too loud since the local guards threw me out on the first night. They know my face and name, so I’ll have to be a bit quieter next time. But when I went back the next day, still telling my sob story, a local glass grinder took pity on me and said he had a job opening. 

It starts a bit later than most jobs, which is fine by me, but that also means I get out later at six so I’m missing the first round at the pub. But that means that people will already be drinking so I can have less and still be around their level.

REPORT:

Been going to the pub more and more lately. Every night it seems like! Lately it feels like that’s the only way that I can really connect with anyone around here. I just wake up, go to work, go to the pub, complain about my wife, and then go home. 

Eventually I’ll have to think of some new way to have fun or else my liver will give out on me. Vick, the bartender, has been giving me weaker drinks. Even though I can tell, I haven’t said anything. Maybe it's for the best anyway.  Evenings are starting to drag a little anyway. 

Coincidently, there are some new people showing up every night. Outsiders from the look of it, and Umberto wanted to shoo them away at first, but there’s really no need for that. No one wants to start a fight for no reason. They were pretty suspicious at first but after a while they warmed up to me. Eventually they let it slip who they were, though I suspect it was an accident. Right then I let it slip as well that I was with them through just the correct little bit of information. 

Afterwards we went over to one of their homes. Generally speaking I wouldn't have felt safe enough, but they were all pretty drunk at this point and I had only had one of the weaker drinks. Evalyn, as she called herself, was still suspicious and we spent the entire night speaking just the right phrases. Night soon came to an end and I left as everyone was asleep. Tonight went well.

I went out with Evalyn to a fancy cocktail bar tonight. She said she had the evening off and she wanted to get to know me better. We went into the city, and after an hour’s drive in the car we arrived at a place called Dancing Cygnus. She knew the bouncer and he let us in without a fuss. 

We danced and we drank and we laughed, but out of the corner of my eye I saw the Postmaster General drinking with a cluster of younger women half his age. His wife, and the members of the church he so vehemently attends would not approve.

Helping myself to drinks tonight! Eve. took me to our pub, the one we frequent most often. Long night tonight, but she didn’t seem to notice I entered the pub winded. People close to us did though, but she told them to mind their own business. 

Might be for the best, everything is finished. Even now, the one we needed is now in position for exploits. Soon everything will be fine. Soon I will be fine. I don’t think I’ll drink when this is done.

The postmaster general announced today that they will begin a plan to have the post office save retirement funds for up to 75 years in the future. While on paper this seems like a good idea it is devastating in a number of ways. Because this money now has to be saved they cannot spend it on equipment and they will be constantly storing this money and it will appear as though they are losing it and must cut back on mail carriers, post offices, ect., all to balance the books.
