Word Count: 932 Played: Nov 20, 2024
Roll: 9 Oriental Shorthair
What is your relationship with your owner?
I was brought into my owner's house at about three months of age. We get along splendidly and from the first moment I walked through the house we knew we could speak to each other.
Why are you helping your human run a society page?
I simply love to know what is about. Cats love secrets.
Where do you live?
We live in a very nice apartment that overlooks the river in the downtown area of a large cosmopolitan city. My human is a socialite and loves nothing more than to attend parties and gossip.
Roll: 1 Old Money Noble
Roll: 3 A University Professor
Roll: 5 In a Dark Secluded Alley
Roll: 6 (Roll Twice More)
Roll: 3 Someone's getting Ruined
Roll: 1 Both Parties are Married
Roll: 3 A masquerade Ball
Roll: 5 Someone Crashed the Party
Summary: Yasmine Postema, a University Professor, and Kathie Battistini, an old monied individual, met in secret in a dark secluded alley. Luckily I was able to sneak above and hide between the potted plants on a windowsill and overhear the conversation.
Postema's daughter, Pennie, disguised herself in a lavish costume and snuck into an exclusive masquerade Ball held by the Battistini family. She was the talk of the party as no one could figure out who she was. There have been rumors and speculations abound, but to find out that it was a non-noble would be deeply embarrassing to the Battistini family and would ruin their name.
Battistini threatened Postema into taking a bribe to make sure that her daughter never attended another party and that she would never speak of this to anyone.
Roll: 2, Human think's it's not true.
REJECTED
Roll: 5, Spouse of Notable INdividual
Roll: 5, A different spouse of a notable Individual
Roll: 1, In public
Roll: 1, Both are married
Roll: 5, A tip about a future trend
Summary: Glen Truver and Darrin Kotowski, both spouses of high fashion designers, were seen together lunching at the famous Twin Ivory Cafe. Luckily I was able to sneak in and hide underneath the table and listen in as they spoke about new fashion trends that will soon take off.
Feathers will be in! Feathers in hats, feathers on long boas and feathers in a gentleman's breast pocket instead of a carnation.
What will stick, what will fade away? Are these the new trends or just a bunch of fashion designer's whimsey?
Roll: 6 Human believes it!
6: Innocent Individual
3: University Professor
3: In a Bar
5: An Unexpected Pairing
4: Someone's an imposter
Summary: Ingrid Azeem met Riley Gerwin in a small crowded bar last friday evening where Azeem accused Gerwin of being an imposter. She claimed he was not the man he said he was and that the real Riley Gerwin was somewhere else, possibly dead. Her evidence was that he was no where near as competent as his letters of recommendation were and that the only explanation was that he had done away with the individual and was a conman.
Gerwin naturally denied everything.
Roll: 3, Human think's it's not true, thinks Azeem is mistaken and no need to persecute Gerwin
REJECTED
1: Old Money Noble
2: Successful Businessman
3: A desirable person is single
4: A secret Invite-Only Event
Summary: Billy Dangler, an old wealthy Noble, and Catrina Jumalon, a successful businesswoman, were together at a private dinner party between the two families. After Jumalon's husband died in a tragic accident two years ago, it's rumored that Dangler is attempting to convince her to marry his son.
Accepting a private dinner offer is quite forward for a single woman, could there be wedding bells soon?
Roll: 1 Human thinks it's not true
REJECTED
3: University Professor
2: Businessman
3: Masquerade Ball
2: Someone made a Scene
6: Shocking Family Secret
Summary: At the twice annual Masquerade Ball, Brittini Gruewald, an acclaimed professor, accused the Gawel family of hiding the death of Yuk, the patriarch of the family. There have been rumors circulating for quite a while as to Yuk's sudden disappearance from public life coupled with the ongoing legal dispute of the inheritance. It would be inconvenient for him to be dead without the money sorted out pre-death.
Gruewald demanded to see Yuk at the party and was subsequently escorted out when the Gawel family refused.
Roll: 6 Human is VERY interested
2: Successful Businessman
5: Spouse of Notable Individual
3: Masquerade Ball
5: Someone crashed the party
1: Criminal Act
Summary: While sneaking around the Battistini family mansion I overheard Kathie and Scarpato discussing some of the missing items from their family estate. They seem to believe that they went missing during the masquerade ball and while they don't know the identity of the individual, it turns out there were several un-invited individuals who attended.
As to which items have been stolen, it is uncertain, but the conversation made it seem like there was more than one.
Roll: 1 Human is not interested.
REJECTED
Due to the lack of interest from the human, this week's papers are more of a pamphlet instead of a full volume.
Roll: 3 Decent interest
However, despite the short volume, the pamphlet sells decently and enough to recoup the cost of printing with a slight profit.
Reward: A lavish meal of fresh caught tuna.
