Scrying the Origins

What is the pattern you have created?

A set of islands in the Illuminated Sea where the bones of a god are said to be scattered. It's said they only glow once a year.

A. 20

Roll: 16, The Turning Point

This location is the midway point in the festival. After this lamp is lit, all the rest of the lights are lit at once, except for the last.

This represents the part of the story where the God had died.

B. 4

Roll: 3, These lamps are lit last

This is the last lamp, it represents the destroying of the flesh of the god and the cleaning of the bones.

C. 6

Roll: 2 These lamps are Unlucky

These lamps are Unlucky as they are the first ones lit. They represent the start of the conflict and what turned the continent into just a few islands.

Only prisoners may light these lamps as often the lighter dies within the next year.

D. 8

Roll: 5, The location for these lamps are an old secret.

The people in this island believe that, because the bones are meant to be kept secret, the lamps must also be kept secret. If people knew where the lamps were, anything not in one of those locations would be a bone, thus the location must never be known.

E. 10

Roll: 2, Divine Powers

These lamps are the largest and the brightest. It's said that the skull is nearby, which is the source of the god's powers, which is why the lights must be the biggest.

The bonfire is larger than any building, and an entire mountain top is dedicated to the ceremony.

F. 10

Roll 3: Location important to Religion

Only the highest priest of this island may light the lamps here. This is the old temple that used to worship the god. After the god died, they stripped away any effigy and any record of its name, but the building still stands and the people still pray, but to what or whom they do not know.

G. 12

Roll: 2, Located in a completely anomalous to the area

This lamp is located inside a field of snow, inside a volcano, inside a jungle, inside a desert oasis.  It takes an entire year to make the  journey there. People on this island celebrate the return of the lamplighters each year as well as the sending off of the next team.

Change Requests for Current Year

Submitted to The Order of the Lights

Proposal: Lamps in location G should be lit first, since it's timing is hardest

REQUEST DENIED, the order is there for a reason!

Proposal: Lift after-dark curfew for non-city areas, this is favoritism for people who live in large cities!

REQUEST DENIED, we might be able to trust most people, but you know how stupid kids are!

Proposal: National Holiday, People should have the day off work

REQUEST…. It already is one! We can't control local businesses if they wish to have you working

Proposal: Mini lamps for each city which correspond to when lamps are lit. This will let everyone know when all the lamps are lit and isn't reliant upon word of mouth.

REQUEST PENDING Interesting idea, but might be difficult for location D
